Getting to Emmaville
Emmaville sits on the New England Tablelands in northern NSW, about an hour north-west of Glen Innes and four and a half hours from Brisbane. Ben's Falls Retreat is ten kilometres further south along Morgans Road.

Flying in
There's no airport at Emmaville or Glen Innes. The realistic options are:
Armidale (ARM) — best option
QantasLink from Sydney (several flights daily) and Brisbane. About 1 hr 50 min drive to Emmaville via Glen Innes. Avis, Hertz, Budget, Thrifty and SIXT all have desks at the airport.
Inverell (IVR) — from Brisbane
Link Airways from Brisbane on weekdays. Roughly an hour's drive to Emmaville. Limited car hire — book early.
Tamworth (TMW) — backup
QantasLink from Sydney and Brisbane. About 3 hours' drive to Emmaville, so a fallback if Armidale is full.
Brisbane (BNE)
For Melbourne and Adelaide guests, flying into Brisbane and driving 4½ hours south is often the simplest and cheapest combination, especially if you share a hire car.
You'll need a car once you land — there's no public transport to Emmaville, and the bus on the wedding day only runs between the Club Hotel and Ben's Falls.
Stock up before Emmaville
Emmaville has a general store, a fuel station and two pubs — and that's about it. There's no ATM, no supermarket and no pharmacy in town. Do your proper shop before the final stretch.
Coming from the south (Sydney, Canberra, Armidale)
- Glen Innes — last big supermarkets (Woolworths and Coles on Grey Street), BWS, ATMs, pharmacy and plenty of fuel. About an hour from Emmaville.
- Deepwater — 27 km before Emmaville. Roadhouse (fuel and hot food, daily), a well-loved bakery, the Commercial Hotel, a café and Deepwater Brewing (pizza Friday nights and Saturday lunch).
Coming from the north (Brisbane, Queensland)
- Stanthorpe — Woolworths and IGA, fuel, and the Granite Belt's cafés and wineries if you want to make a stop of it.
- Tenterfield — IGA, fuel and an ATM, just over the border. About an hour from Emmaville.
- Deepwater — same as above; the last fuel and food before Emmaville.
In Emmaville itself

On the road
- Wildlife at dusk and dawn. The Tablelands are thick with kangaroos, wallabies and deer. If you can, avoid driving the last stretch after dark — otherwise slow right down and watch the verges.
- Sealed all the way. The highways are sealed to Emmaville. Morgans Road, the last 10 km into Ben's Falls, is a country road — take it easy, and check with us if you're in something very low-slung.
- Weather. Late March up here averages about 24°C by day and 11°C overnight, with the odd shower. Warm afternoons, cool nights — pack layers.
- Sunday fuel. Emmaville's station is closed Sundays. If you're driving home Sunday, fill up in Deepwater or Glen Innes.

Ben's Falls Retreat, 254 Morgans Road, Emmaville NSW 2371. From town, head south on the Glen Innes Road for about 10 km, turn right into Morgans Road, keep right at the fork and continue ahead to the property.
